“Degrees” is a project exploring alternative ways of seeing the environment around us. All these images are single-exposure photos of something you could see in a London street. Through moving the camera with long exposures the camera was used almost like a paint brush, capturing light from here and there. Each image is named of the location in longitude / lattitude (degrees of minutes and seconds) followed by the date and time. So the viewer has very specific information about the picture but the actual object / view is unknown and totally abstracted.
The images are limited edition archival Giclée prints on Hahnemuehle Photorag (100% cotton watercolour paper), giving a matte texture and tricking some viewers into thinking they are not photographs at all but maybe paintings or drawings. They have appeared in three exhibitions.
